The Buffalo Island Central Mustangs will tip-off this Thursday afternoon at the Bobby D. Hulse Memorial Basketball Classic at Norfork High School in Norfork, AR to begin their 2023-2024 season.
The Mustangs return three starters from a team that finished as co-conference champions with a record of 18-8 during the 2022-2023 season. They look to build on their Co-Conference title with Nicholas Patterson (Senior), Jax Whitley (Senior), and Riley Whitehead (Senior) as their returning starters. Players Leo Contreras (Soph.), Max McCord (Senior), and Hank Hurst (Senior) are expected to fill key roles as well.
“Our conference will be a dog fight every night and we are looking forward to coming out and competing,” said head coach Taylor Layne. “We have put in the work during the off season and we are hungry.”
The Mustangs will play immediately following the Lady Mustangs both days during the tournament facing Kingston High School at 5:45 PM on Thursday, October 19th and Norfork High School at 12:15 PM on Friday, October 20th.
