Nicholas Patterson signed his scholarship today to play baseball for the ASU-Mountain Home Trailblazers. The announcement comes as no surprise, given Patterson's career and impactful contributions to Buffalo Island Central's (BIC) baseball program.

A standout player from his freshman year through his junior year, Patterson boasts an impressive career batting average of .455, showcasing his consistency and his important role in BIC’s lineup. Not confined to his offensive capabilities, Patterson has also played a pivotal role as a pitcher, maintaining a career ERA of 1.87. His pitching dominance is further evidenced by 305 strikeouts and an impressive 21 wins under his belt.

Patterson's journey to success has been instrumental in making BIC a formidable opponent. His leadership and exceptional skills have played an integral part in securing numerous accolades for the team, including a regular-season conference championship, two district tournament championships, and a regional tournament championship.

“My recruiting process started when I pitched against his (Coach Spencer Adcock of ASU Mountain-Home) summer team. I pitched really well and he talked to me after the game,” said Patterson. “About a month later I got to go on my first visit there. I got to tour the campus and it is a beautiful campus and that is what made my decision.”

When asked about what he looks forward to the most about playing ball at the collegiate level, Patterson said, “The energy. The college level has more energy than high school and I am ready for it.”

Patterson will take the mound as a senior for the Mustangs when they open their season against Trumann High School in Truman, Arkansas on February 27th at 5:00 PM.
